SIMBA SPORTS CLUB TEAM HISTORY AND ACHIEVEMENTS (TANZANIA)

INTRODUCTION

The Simba Sports Club is a football club found in Tanzania on the streets of Kariakoo, a city of Dar es Salaam.

The club's training center known as Mo Simba Arena is located just outside the city centre in Bunju. The club's home games are played at two stadiums, Uhuru Stadium and National Stadium. 

                           HISTORY

The Simba Sports Club was founded in 1936, it is approximately 84 years since the start of the red carpet. Since its inception the Simba club has gone through different names at different times.




For example, the Simba sports club was known by many different names such as Queens, Eagles, Sunderland before being named the Simba Sports Club by 1971 and the name is used upto date. 

Simba sports club has been facing fierce opposition in Tanzanian football from their rivals Yanga, a club which was founded in 1935 a year before the establishment of Simba Sports Club. When these teams meet in major league in mainland Tanzania and other tournaments, the match seems to capture the emotions of football players and fans who flock to these teams from the streets of Kariakoo in Dar es Salaam. 

                  

               




NEW NATIONAL SUCCESSES

 Simba's other major achievements include winning the 1993 World Cup final against Stella Club A'Adjame in Ivory Coast where Simba lost the tournament in Dar es Salaam. -es-salam by scoring a total of 2-0. Other great achievements that Simba's club has achieved include defending the quarter-finals at the African Championship held in 2003. of the match he was selected as Simba Juma Kaseja's goalkeeper who won two penalties against the Egyptian Pharaohs

Since its inception so far, Simba's club has won 19 major league titles on the continent 19times.In1978,1979,1980,1993,1994,1994,1994,1995,2001,2002,2004,2007,2009,2011 and 2018. 

                        TUSKER CUP 

Simba's Club has won the Tusker Cup at different times when it has won the Cup five times. The red carpet champion has won the Tusker Cup in 2001, 2002,2003,200 and 2005. OTHER SUCCESS Apart from cupcake insurance Simba has become the first team in Tanzania to decide to run its own under billionaire businessman Mohamed Dewj Mo 'who owns about 50% of the club's assets so far.
